e-Waste Destruction and Recycling

What is e-Waste?

While many document destruction services only offer paper shredding we understand that in the digital age many sensitive documents and information are not only stored on paper but on digital devices. e-Waste is an umbrella term that encompasses all forms of electronic waste that are either broken, obsolete, or in need of recycling.

Computer hard drives (external and internal), USB sticks, CDs and DVDs can contain confidential and outdated information that cannot be fully erased digitally. Even broken USBs and “dead” external hard drives still have information hidden on them that can be extracted easily by identity thieves.

Previously these items were simply taken to the ‘tip”-- but they are no longer accepted at many landfill stations due to inherent environmental risks and now need to be destroyed and recycled appropriately.

e-Waste includes, but is not limited to…

Digital Data Storing Devices:

  • Computers (laptops, desktops, iPads)
  • USB drives, solid state drives (SSD)
  • External hard drives, electrical and data cords
  • DVDs, CDs, CDRs
  • Mobile phones

Other e-Waste:

  • Photocopiers and printers, ink cartridges, toners
  • TVs, VCRs, DVD players and audio equipment
  • Batteries
  • … All materials recycled where possible

Safe, Sustainable, Secure Destruction of all e-Waste

We understand that just as critical as document destruction and recycling is for your organization or business, digital data-containing devices must be disposed of with the same security and care that is afforded to paper documents.

We offer a complete e-Waste destruction service that remains 100% secure from collection right through to destruction and eventual recycling of waste materials giving you fast, efficient and secure destruction of all digital records.

As an environmentally conscious document destruction company, all of our e-Waste is recycled and/or reused wherever possible. In the case of re-use, some leftover computer parts (e.g. monitors, keyboards) can be utilised in underprivileged countries.
